According to wikipedia,
Wikipedia: 2004 Democrat Primaries
these are the Democrats who campaigned in the 2004 Presidential primaries...
which John Kerry eventually won,
and who then chose John Edwards as a running mate.
John Edwards... was scandalized by a possible extra-marital affair:
John Kerry, Dennis Kucinich, Al Sharpton, John Edwards, Howard Dean,
Wesley Clark, Joe Lieberman, Dick Gephardt, and Carol Mosley Braun.
Senator Bob Graham of Florida withdrew before the primaries.
Howard Dean was surging to the top of the field...
until he gave a public speech that was way too enthusiastic...
causing some to wonder about his possible cocaine use.
Those who declined to run were:
Al Gore, former Vice-President
Joe Biden, Senator from Delaware
Hillary Clinton, Senator from New York
Tom Daschle, Senator from South Dakota
Gary Hart, former Senator from Colorado
Bill Bradley, former Senator from New Jersey
Reverand Jesse Jackson, civil rights activist
Chris Dodd, Senator from Conneticut
Russ Feingold, Senator from Wisconsin
Marcy Kaptur, U.S. Representative from Ohio
Tom Vilsack, Governor of Iowa
Roy Barnes, Governor of Georgia
Evan Bayh, Senator from Indiana
Gray Davis, Governor of California
John McCain, Republican Senator from Arizona
Steve Jobs, CEO of Apple, Inc. of California
... all strong and viable candidates... but not that year.
Bernie Sanders became very popular in the 2016 primaries.
Based largely on his promotion of healthcare for all...
Bernie drew thousands to his rallies...
but dropped out when Hillary Clinton was shoe-horned in...
at the last moment... causing a scandal in politics.
The issue was taken to court in Florida
and it was ruled that political parties are private corporations
with the right to elect whomever they so chose...
even if it were in a smoke-filled back room meeting of powerbrokers.
In 2004, Kucinich promoted "healthcare for all"... and I loved it... and him...
and I loved Bernie Sanders for the same reason.
For decades, I had seen how crucial healthcare was to our people.
Over those decades, healthcare was becoming more and more costly...
until it finally soared out of reach for those who didn't have insurance.
Healthcare was administered through employers, for the most part...
who else could afford to pay the premiums but large companies?
Even with employer administered healthcare... there were deductibles.
I considered... still consider... healthcare an absolute necessity for Americans...
just to keep our heads above the water when serious concerns arise.
Without it... even financially solid citizens were being bankrupted.
During Kucinich's campaign... a series of health fairs was organized.
Doctors volunteered to give free healthcare to the poor.
From out of the woodwork... thousands came with their stories...
terrible stories of health tragedies... tumors... deformities... disabilities...
and conditions that had been left to fester... because of the cost of treatment.
Our back room citizens... our poorest citizens... were suffering terribly.
As a fan of Kucinich, I began to do some research on the subject.
I had already become familiar with the failures of our system of healthcare.
Doctors had pills for everything... but had no knowledge of nutrition...
no real knowledge because natural healing and treatment was abandoned...
no knowledge because pharmaceutical companies funded our universities...
and the healthcare system controlled the blueprints of treatments.
Doctors... were mere agents for insurance companies...
needing approvals before treatments... forced into corporate standards.
I had already studied nutrition and herbal remedies for many years...
when I was clued into the harms of many pharmaceuticals...
and specifically... antibiotics... which can destroy your immune system...
can cause depression... and many other harmful side-effects.
I was a fan of Doug Kaufmann... who had a televised health show.
Kaufmann believes cancer is a fungus... that many ailments are fungi.
Fungi get into your system and harbor in snuggly places in your body.
Fungi disrupt the valves in your pancreas... resulting in diabetes.
Oral antibiotics wipe out your natural gut mechanisms for healing...
giving opportunistic fungi and viruses to proliferate in your body.
After antibiotic treatments... it may take years to rebuild a healthy gut...
but... nutrition and natural remedies are only a small part of the negligence.
Doctors were closing their offices because of the dysfunctions of the system.
Kucinich had picked the song "Imagine" for his campaign...
which was only one downfall for me about the man.
Was he really a socialist? or just accepting of their campaign contributions?
Had he suffered in his childhood... affecting his growth... his own health?
I pictured him giving his dinner to his younger brothers and sisters.
So... not being a socialist myself... I did my own figuring on healthcare.
My idea was for clinics... to belong to clinics... enroll in clinics.
I included it in my treatise "The Structure of Society"
Healthcare Without Insurance
It's in a loose draft form... but I believe it's worth the reading.
Democrats devised a plan... Obamacare... that has cost trillions of dollars...
and it only took a stack of documents 7-feet high to do it.
I have come to believe that the only way to control the cost of healthcare
is for doctors and their staffs to take a salary...
and to forego complicated "pay per service" structures...
and for trained office managers to run the business of the clinics...
and for physicians to work with other doctors and colleagues
in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
Such a system preserves our privacy and individualized treatments.
The clinic would carry insurance for mishaps or harm to patients
but such mishaps would be reduced by consultations with their partners.
Natural remedies would not be a threat to the system...
but would be a working part of a patient's treatment.
The resulting health of patients would allow more people to join the clinic...
making more benefits for the doctors...
or allowing home visits... nursing home visits... personal education...
allowing doctors to advance in their desired fields of work.
What nearly got Bernie Sanders elected as our President?
... the subject of healthcare.
What made me sit down and come up with better solutions?
... the campaign of Dennis Kucinich.
